Who We’re Looking For:

The Structural Drafter/Designer must own the responsibilities identified below. This role is reserved for an individual who is self-motivated and consistently shows good decision-making, has strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and a desire to learn. This individual will operate under the leadership of the Design Manager and should exhibit professional growth to gain capacity and responsibility as an employee. This role entails modeling, drafting, and issuance of all submittals and deliverables essential for the successful completion of each project.

Responsibilities:

• Own all project information and coordination.
• Using MBI processes and tools, manage the following in accordance with the project requirements:
• Convert customer requirements into comprehensive designs, drawings, notes, or sketches, and prepare the necessary documents and files.
• Review customer data, proposals, and requirements; formulate RFIs for clarification as needed.
• Manage project narrative to track and implement all design requirements.
• Own the project transmittal process, communicating submittals, documents, and revisions to the Project Manager.
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Generate quality submittals and documents using MBI standards.
• Communicate with senior design/engineering staff for design directions.
• Collaborate with fellow project designers when necessary.
• Maintain high organization skills and attention to detail.
• Problem-solve and navigate ambiguities to arrive at acceptable solutions, including management of the construction and steel erection phases.

• Work from MBI office, with intermittent site visits required

• Knowledge of the steel industry

• Initiative to solve problems and propose solutions for review and approval
