Mid-States is seeking a Structural Detailer/Designer to create access and support steel like stairs, platforms, ladders, and guards for our facilities. The role combines design and shop detailing, moving from layout to fabrication drawings and BOMs using Autodesk Inventor.
You will collaborate with Engineers of Record and our shop, with a clear path toward higher-level detailing roles. You will join a team investing in standards, tools, and training to raise quality.
Since 2001, Mid-States has been family-owned and operated , designing, fabricating, installing, and servicing bulk material handling systems for grain, feed, milling, and processing facilities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Our engineering team works alongside our own fabrication shop, millwright and construction crews, and crane and trucking group, so the drawings you produce get built by people down the hall, not handed off and forgotten. Add a 100% company-paid health plan option, a 5% 401(k) match, and annual profit sharing for every team member, and you have a place built for the long haul.
We are looking for a Structural Detailer/Designer to design and detail the access and support steel that goes with our facilities and equipment: stairs, platforms, ladders, handrail, guardrail, catwalks, and equipment supports. This is a combined seat, split roughly evenly between design and shop detailing. You will take a piece of structure from layout through shop drawings in Autodesk Inventor, work with our outside Engineers of Record when stamped engineering is required, and produce the fabrication drawings and bills of material our shop builds from. Your drawings go to our own shop, and you can walk out and see them built. You will join a team that is investing in standards, tools, and training rather than reinventing every job, with a defined career path into Structural Designer II, Structural Detailer II, or Detailing Lead.
If you want to see your work built, grow inside a team that is investing in how it designs, and help shape the standards others will build from, we want to hear from you. People stay at Mid-States for the challenge, and as we grow, so do the opportunities to move into your next stage.
