Job summary

CECO Environmental is seeking a Structural Designer II to produce accurate 3D models, drawings, and material take‑offs for heavy industrial equipment and hot exhaust ducting systems. This mid‑level role advances design development under senior engineers and collaborates with affected teams to ensure quality and schedule alignment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in CAD/Drafting or related field.
• 3–5 years in industrial structural or mechanical design.
• Experience producing ductwork or plate structures for heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and material take-offs for heavy industrial equipment and ducting systems.
• Assist in hot exhaust and flue gas ducting design, including casings, transitions, and related structural components.
• Develop drawings for customer review, procurement, and fabrication following established standards.
• Incorporate input on thermal expansion, operating temperature, and mechanical loading as directed.
• Coordinate ducting layouts with associated equipment (SCR reactors, baghouses, ESPs, dampers, expansion joints).
• Review project inputs for completeness and raise questions to senior staff.
• Perform geometric and material quantity calculations.
• Revise drawings based on reviews and fabrication feedback.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination with Engineering, PM, and Sales.
• Follow document control procedures for drawing issuance and revisions.
