Job summary

VAA is hiring a Structural Designer for a Hybrid/Remote role based in Minneapolis, MN. You will develop drawings for diverse projects under Senior Designer guidance, coordinating with engineers and clients.

Responsibilities include producing quality drawings, setting up drafting plans to standards, and mentoring technicians while expanding your CAD skills and project responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher is required.
• 5+ years of experience in structural drafting/design.
• Starting Hourly Range: $30.00 - $39.00.

Responsibilities

• Work with other Designers and Engineers to produce quality drawings for a variety of project types from concept phase through construction documents.
• Set up plans, sections and details to specified drafting standards.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplined design team, clients and equipment suppliers.
• Provide direction to Technicians, review the quality of their work, and assist with training.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and internal teammates, and collaborate on design decisions within your area of experience.
• Utilize software with increasing efficiency and depth of understanding.
• Undertake increasingly complex design tasks and responsibilities with a commitment to continuous learning and client service.

Our growing firm is looking for hard-working team players who are eager to learn, committed to growth, and driven to make a real impact. We are currently hiring Structural Designers in our Origination, Processing and Manufacturing sectors, where we provide structural designs for a wide range of industries.

Our Structural team is a trusted and preferred partner to major local, national and international clients. These diverse and long-term client relationships have supported sustainable company growth through 45 years.
