Job summary

VAA is seeking Structural Designers to join our Origination, Processing and Manufacturing teams. You will contribute to producing quality drawings from concept to construction documents, under a Senior Designer and within a multi-disciplinary team.

You will coordinate with clients and suppliers, mentor Technicians, and continually advance your drafting skills using CAD. We value growth, learning, and long‑term career development within our firm.

Qualifications

• Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher.
• 5+ Years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with other Designers and Engineers to produce quality drawings for a variety of project types from concept phase through construction documents.
• Set up plans, sections and details to specified drafting standards.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline design team, clients and equipment suppliers.
• Provide direction to Technicians, review the quality of their work, and assist with training.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and internal teammates, and collaborate on design decisions within your area of experience.

Your role:

Under the direction of a Senior Designer you will:

• Work with other Designers and Engineers to produce quality drawings for a variety of project types from concept phase through construction documents.
• Set up plans, sections and details to specified drafting standards.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline design team, clients and equipment suppliers.
• Provide direction to Technicians, review the quality of their work, and assist with training.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and internal teammates, and collaborate on design decisions within your area of experience.
• Utilize software with increasing efficiency and depth of understanding.
• Undertake increasingly complex design tasks and responsibilities with a commitment to continuous learning, technical development and client service.

Your resume must include:

• Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher.
• 5+ Years of experience

Starting Hourly Range

$30.00 - $39.00.
