Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Structural Designer in various US locations, including Lone Tree, CO. The role focuses on creating and maintaining BIM models for foundations and steel structures, collaborating with engineers, and mentoring junior team members.

The candidate should have a 2-year CAD-related technical degree and 4+ years in structural design, with Tekla experience preferred and BIM familiarity.

Qualifications

• 2-year CAD-related technical school degree and 4+ years of structural design experience.
• Experience or coursework in BIM is preferred.
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Leadership to mentor less experienced designers.
• Strong communication (verbal and written).
• Proficiency with basic office software (spreadsheets, word processing).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group members to review and exchange project information.
• Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements.
• Report task progress to Lead Designer.
• Develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures with engineers and other disciplines.
• Create plans, drawings, and details using BIM.
• Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques.
