Job summary

McCarl's is seeking a Civil/Structural Designer to deliver 3D arrangements, layouts, and drawings for industrial projects. You will develop concepts through fabrication drawings, perform material take-offs, and work with point clouds to create accurate 3D designs in Plant3D and Advance Steel.

You will collaborate with field engineers, follow ASME/ASCE codes, perform field visits, and help prepare Work Packages, As-Builts and turnover documents.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from a Technical Institution.
• 2 years minimum of civil/structural design experience.
• Working knowledge of SDS and/or AutoDesk software, including Plant3D and Advance Steel.
• Experience with point clouds preferred.
• Follow design code standards (ASME, ASCE).
• Ability to present deliverables clearly and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Generate 3D civil and structural arrangements, layouts, and drawings.
• Complete drawings from conceptual through fabrication quality.
• Develop structural material take-offs.
• Interpret point clouds to create 3D designs.
• Engage field engineering in design process and layout.
• Design software and field instrumentation integration.
• Support Work Packages, As-Builts, and turnover documents.
• Review and maintain design specifications.
