Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Structural/Bridge Designer to join the Civil team in Raleigh, NC. You will work on transportation projects with state and local agencies, performing engineering models, analyses, and drawings, and coordinating drafting of project elements for clients.

Recent grads encouraged to apply; BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis and MicroStation experience preferred. EI licensure or ability to obtain is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is required or equivalent.
• EI or ability to obtain licensure is required/preferred.
• 0 to 2+ years of structural design experience.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills.
• Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications using MicroStation.
• Able to manage design budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Performing basic analysis of project elements.
• Performing load development and designing calculations of project elements and checking work.
• Preparing organized structural calculations.
• Designing and drafting structural elements and details.
• Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
• Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned.
• Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager.

Structural/Bridge Designer

Join our growing Civil team as a Structural Designer. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a Designer you will perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and supporting calculations/documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients.

• Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
• Ability to perform complex analysis and design
• Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Experience working with NCDOT is a benefit.
• Experience with MicroStation is a benefit.
