Job summary

Black & Veatch offers a path for a Structural Associate Engineering Technician to contribute to Advanced Power Generation projects. You will help develop steel and foundation models, drawings, and details using CAD/BIM tools and OpenBuildings platforms.

Under supervision, you will support multidisciplinary teams, mentor newer technicians, and ensure quality through BV standards while advancing in a flexible hybrid work environment after an initial onboarding period.

Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate required; Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Typically, a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
Able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR) as applicable.

Responsibilities

Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Uses digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
Stays current on applicable standards, BV policies, and document control practices.
Applies BV Quality Program knowledge to ensure compliant deliverables.
Demonstrates attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement.
Develops project deliverables from diverse design inputs.
Performs basic computations and dimensional checks.
Coordinates deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors.
Supports internal client needs and understands external drivers.
Seeks and applies new technologies and evolving processes.
