Job summary

LEO A DALY invites a Summer Intern to help analyze, design, and detail structural systems for diverse projects. You will work within a multi-discipline team under licensed structural engineers, focusing on design tasks, calculations, reports, and deliverable drawings.

The role emphasizes Revit modeling and coordination, site observations, and preparing narratives and drawings while meeting schedule and budget constraints. Progress toward ABET-accredited structural degree is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Knowledge and proficiency with REVIT Structure is preferred.
• Knowledge and proficiency using RISA 2d and 3d, and the RAM and PCA suite of programs is a plus.
• Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills and knowledge of other building systems.
• Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team.
• Active involvement and demonstrated leadership skills in extracurricular activities on campus and in the community is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists to design and specify project-appropriate structural engineering requirements.
• Coordinates designs with the work of Structural Designers.
• Performs Revit modeling and detailing.
• Assists to conduct site investigations and observations.
• Assists to prepare narratives, reports, hand and computer calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints.
• Assists to perform cross-discipline discussions and coordination.
• Additional assignments may include attending client and internal meetings, assisting with performing construction contract administration, and assisting with marketing/business development activities.
