IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join us! We are currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer in our Pasadena, CA office. A Structural Design Engineer will work with experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice, ensuring positive outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and document development for structural systems, working within project budgets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project and client goals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems using various materials and engineering software, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
  • Engage with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships.
  • Support project execution by assisting in planning, scheduling, documenting design decisions, and monitoring progress.
  • Analyze engineering tasks, propose solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
  • Participate in quality control to ensure standards and client requirements are met.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research and innovation within IMEG.
  • Prioritize safety, act ethically and professionally, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage in full project life cycle activities including design development, construction documents, and site observations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of design techniques, standards, and concepts across various building materials.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills related to structural mechanics and materials.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate team-building skills.
  • Attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and adaptability.
  • Basic knowledge of BIM software.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%, including occasional overnight stays.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required.
  • Master's in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Internship experience in building design consulting preferred.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary range: $72,000 - $75,000, depending on experience and location. Additional rewards include bonuses and stock options. IMEG offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
