IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer in our Pasadena, CA office. A Structural Design Engineer will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and development of documents for structural systems. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems using various building materials, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards;
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication;
  • Support project execution through planning, scheduling, and documentation to meet deadlines and objectives;
  • Document design decisions and monitor project progress;
  • Analyze engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions, collaborating with senior engineers;
  • Participate in quality control processes to ensure standards are met;
  • Stay updated with industry trends and contribute to research and development;
  • Prioritize safety and conduct work ethically and professionally;
  • Engage in all project phases from conception to construction, including reviewing submittals and site observations.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Knowledge of design standards for steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and structural systems;
  • Strong technical skills in structural mechanics and materials;
  • Proficiency with industry-standard engineering software;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Team collaboration skills;
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt;
  • Basic knowledge of BIM software;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering;
  • Master's Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferred;
  • Prior internship experience preferred;
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred.

Salary Range: $72,000.00 - 75,000.00. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards include annual bonuses and stock options.
