Structural Design Engineer - Kiewit Nuclear Solutions

We are seeking experienced Structural Design Engineers to join our team at Kiewit Nuclear Solutions, supporting projects in the emerging nuclear market. Our team focuses on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs in a strong safety culture.

Location: Lenexa, KS (other locations considered)

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design tasks, coordinate with CADD teams, and develop plans for structures such as bridges, walls, culverts, and inlet structures.
• Develop task scopes, schedules, and budgets for structural design deliverables.
• Understand technical requirements and implement engineering principles.
• Manage design teams to ensure scope, quality, schedule, and budget are met.
• Establish project-specific design criteria.
• Conduct technical reviews and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Lead technical meetings and develop solutions for complex problems.
• Identify technical differentiators for project pursuits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years relevant structural engineering experience, especially in nuclear.
• Knowledge of ASME codes, experience with seismic design, and design-build projects.
• 5+ years leading/mentoring engineers.
• PE registration preferred.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles.
• Excellent communication and team skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
