Job summary

S. A. Miro, Inc. in Denver, CO, invites a self-motivated Structural Design Engineer Intern to join our team. This hands-on internship offers exposure to a diverse range of nationwide projects and mentorship from licensed engineers through design and construction phases.

Interns contribute to live project work, assist with drawings, calculations, shop submittals, and site visits as schedules permit. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, and eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a BS/MS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Foundational coursework in statics, mechanics of materials, and structural analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Attention to detail; eager to learn and ask questions.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be able to commute to Denver, CO.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing project documents, structural drawings, and specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations for structural components under supervision.
• Review shop drawing submittals.
• Support design team through design and construction phases, including RFI research.
• Participate in site visits during construction as schedules allow.
• Attend project team meetings and internal design reviews.
• Prepare presentations.
• Data entry and other duties as assigned.
