Job summary

S. A. Miro, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Civil Design Engineer Intern to join our team.

This is a hands-on internship with exposure to a diverse range of local land development and municipal projects, working alongside licensed engineers through design and construction phases. Interns at Miro contribute to live project work under the direction of a supervising engineer. Interns contribute to live project work under supervision, assisting with construction documents, site plans, and drainage

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in accredited college pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Completion of foundational coursework in transportation and/or site design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; in-person team work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing construction documents, site plans, and technical specifications
• Support utility layout, grading, and drainage design tasks under supervision
• Perform engineering calculations and assist with drainage and hydraulic analysis
• Help compile submittals to municipalities and review agencies
• Support the design team through design and construction phases, including submittal review and RFI research
• Assist with field observation and site visits as project schedules allow
• Participate in project team meetings and internal design reviews

Qualifications:

Required

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering
• Completion of foundational coursework in transportation and/or site design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an in-person team environment
• Attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions
  

Preferred

• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student with a land development or water resources emphasis
• Coursework or project exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Familiarity with StormCAD, Flowmaster, or Mile High Flood District design tools
• Interest in commercial and institutional site development, campus planning, or municipal infrastructure
• Front Range familiarity is advantageous
• On track to sit for the FE exam
