Job summary
gpac is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our collaborative engineering team in Chicago. You will participate in all phases from preliminary design through construction support for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
You will work with seasoned professionals who mentor, innovate, and deliver efficient structural solutions. The role emphasizes solving complex challenges, coordinating with architects and project managers, and producing accurate calculations,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering.
- PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
- 4+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and RAM/RAISA/STAAD/ETABS or similar software.
- Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS, and related standards.
Responsibilities
- Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects.
- Prepare structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Develop designs using steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Perform structural analysis with industry-standard software.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and PMs.
