Job summary

Bennett & Pless Inc. seeks a Structural Design Engineer to join the Loudoun office. You will develop drawings and specifications, analyze structures, and ensure code compliance on diverse projects in manufacturing, commercial, and educational markets.

Bring 5+ years of structural engineering experience, a BS in civil/structural, and ideally PE licensure in progress. Collaborate with project managers and designers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural engineering is required.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
• PE licensure or on track to obtain in near future.
• Experience with masonry, wind design, wood design, or related systems.
• Proficiency with industry software including Revit, RISA, Bentley RAM, EnerCalc.

Responsibilities

• Design structural systems for a variety of project types.
• Support new construction and adaptive reuse/renovation projects.
• Perform structural analysis using modeling software and codes.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, studies, and reports for review.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.
• Assist with site visits, structural surveys, and field reports.
• Support construction administration and RFIs/meetings.
