Job summary

Axis Companies is looking for an entry-level to mid-level Structural Design Engineer to join the Roswell, GA office. The role focuses on designing residential and commercial structures and assisting in drafting for larger projects.

The candidate should have 1+ years of structural design experience, an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree, and an Engineer in Training certification or plan to sit for the exam within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with emphasis in structural design.
• Engineer in Training Certification or ability to sit for exam in six months
• Experience with current AISC Manual, ASCE7-16, ACI 318-14 and 2018 IBC
• 1+ years of experience in structural design using steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light gauge metal
• Solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience with structural analysis software (RAM, ENERCALC, and STAAD for example)
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; Revit is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Perform designs for a variety of project types including residential and commercial structures.
• Assist in design and drafting of larger, more complex structural projects.
