Job summary

CNH Industrial in Wichita, Kansas seeks a Structural Design Analyst to support design development from concept through release, performing FEA simulations to ensure durability and structural integrity for a range of construction machinery components.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background with 3+ years of nonlinear FEA and fatigue experience using Abaqus, Hypermesh and Optistruct, plus knowledge of Ncode. Hybrid work mode is offered in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Three plus years of nonlinear FEA and fatigue analysis of on-road or off-road vehicle components.
• Three plus years of experience with Abaqus and Abaqus Explicit, Hypermesh and Optistruct, Fatigue Software such as Ncode.

Responsibilities

• Support during concept phase and final virtual validations of mechanical components and assemblies for construction machinery vehicles.
• Perform structural (linear, nonlinear, dynamic) simulations using FEA tools or calculation spreadsheets.
• Prepare the FE models according to DA&S simulation procedures.
• Determine structural loads to be used for the FEA validation, by specific analysis tools or by hand calculation.
• Provide design proposals to Engineering team to improve or optimise the structural behavior of components/assemblies.
• Simulation tasks management through Integrated Validation Plan and CTS system.
• Execute simulations to validate components and/or systems using FEA tools; include static, modal, and durability analyses.
• Process strain gauging and accelerometer test data.
