HDR is hiring a Structural Engineering Coordinator/EIT to support a range of structural design projects across diverse sectors, located in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and develop construction documents under the oversight of a Professional Engineer.
- Write and edit structural specifications and reports.
- Verify code compliance, conduct quality checks, and meet project schedules and budget requirements.
- Work independently on small projects and assist senior engineers on larger projects.
- Perform small tasks in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and provide engineering services during construction.
- Use finite element analysis software (e.g., RAM, ETABS, SAP2000) and hand calculations to perform work.
- Participate in project site visits with the Project Manager, Sr. Structural Engineer, and other disciplines.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Candidate without an EIT will have the title of “Coordinator” and will be expected to obtain an EIT.
- Master of Science (MS) Degree in Structural Engineering or related field, 3.5+ GPA.
- Previous structural design experience (internship or full‑time).
- Demonstrated knowledge of structural engineering software.
- Willingness to try new things and be forward‑thinking, innovative.
- Familiarity with CADD software such as AutoCAD, Revit or MicroStation.
- Ability to travel.
- Understanding of the finite element method and basic FEA.
- Team‑oriented, analytical, and organizational skills to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate with other disciplines and CAD/BIM designers.
- Attention to accuracy, detail orientation, self‑directed learning, meeting deadlines, and multi‑tasking.
- Full‑time work in assigned office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and structural software such as RISA, STAAD, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE.

Compensation
Annual range: $70,219.00 – $107,956.00, depending on skills, experience, education, and location.

Primary: Folsom, California; Alternate: Walnut Creek, California.
