Job summary

SteelFab, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Structural Connection Design Engineer to design bolted and welded connections for dynamic structures.

You will use RAM, Risa, Bentley Structural to analyze joints and create 3D models with Tekla Structures and Revit, supporting fabrication and field erection. Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, FE exam, Excel proficiency, and strong collaboration with contractors and architects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completed.
Proficiency in MS Excel and structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

Assess contract structural and architectural documents to clarify design requirements.
Analyze load cases and combinations.
Evaluate connection options for strength, economy, and constructability.
Design high-strength bolted connections.
Engineer welded connections.
Use RAM, Risa, Bentley Structural to analyze joints and connections.
Create 3D models with Tekla Structures, Revit, and similar tools.
Support shop fabrication to ensure designs are executed flawlessly.
Provide on-site engineering during field erection.
Evaluate projects for value and constructability improvements.
Attend design progress meetings with GC, Architects, and Structural Engineers.
