Job summary

Suntec Concrete, a leading Arizona-based contractor, is expanding into the Tucson market and seeking an Experienced Structural Carpenter to build concrete formwork for major projects in the Phoenix–Tucson corridor.

You will read blueprints, lay out forms, and collaborate with crane operators and crews to maintain schedules while upholding safety and craftsmanship on site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven experience in structural concrete formwork and carpentry.
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
• Experience with commercial and structural concrete construction.
• Experience working around cranes and heavy equipment.
• Strong commitment to craftsmanship, productivity, and quality.
• Team-oriented attitude with a focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Layout, prepare, erect, and assemble concrete forms for structural placements.
• Build, install, brace, align, and remove formwork for walls, columns, slabs, footings, and piers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and layout plans.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and construction equipment.

• Mentor less experienced crew members.

Description

What You'll Do

As an Experienced Structural Carpenter, you'll be responsible for constructing the structural formwork that serves as the foundation for successful concrete projects. You will:

• Layout, prepare, erect, and assemble concrete forms for structural concrete placements


• Build, install, brace, align, and remove concrete formwork for walls, columns, slabs, footings, and piers


• Set and align forms using lumber, plywood, wall ties, coil rods, clamps, turnbuckles, and other forming systems


• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and layout plans


• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and forming materials accurately


• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and construction equipment


• Work closely with crane operators, laborers, finishers, and other trades to maintain production schedules


• Signal operators during rigging, lifting, and placement operations


• Inspect tools and equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained


• Install barricades and maintain safe, organized work areas


• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced crew members
