Job summary

Capital Professional Staffing LLC is seeking a hands-on CAD Draftsman / Structural Steel Detailer in Tyler, TX. The role develops parts, assemblies, and shop drawings from structural/fabrication drawings for fabrication teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, creating parts with CAD software, and developing CNC-ready shop drawings. Familiarity with STEP, DSTV/NC1, IFC formats is valued. On-site, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

Strong working knowledge of CAD drafting or design software.
Ability to read and understand structural, fabrication, or industrial drawings.
Ability to translate drawings into individual parts and components for fabrication.
SolidWorks experience preferred, but not required.
AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Tekla, SDS2, or comparable CAD/modeling experience will be considered.
Structural steel, metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or industrial experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Review structural, fabrication, and technical drawings provided by customers.
Create and detail individual parts and assemblies using CAD software.
Develop shop drawings used by the fabrication team.
Prepare CAD files that can be used by CNC plasma tables, profiling machines, and other CNC fabrication equipment.
Work with or convert common industry file formats including STEP, DSTV / NC1, IFC, and other structural model formats.
