Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Building) Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our New York City, NY office. The role supports the Building and Facility Structures Group in design and analysis of non-bridge structures, offering hands-on experience and growth opportunities.

The intern will work on projects across buildings, evaluations, repairs, upgrades, waterfronts, flood resiliency, and transit facilities, with exposure to REVIT, AutoCAD, and standard MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, with a focus in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Exposure to civil/structural engineering design, strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced team with deadlines.
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD; good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Support a wide variety of projects including public/private buildings and structural evaluations.
  • Assist with structural repairs, upgrades, and waterfront/flood-resiliency/transit facilities.
  • Prepare civil/structural calculations, reports, drawings and specifications to meet project needs.

Responsibilities

The candidate will work on a wide variety of projects including public and private buildings, structural evaluations, structural repairs, structural upgrades, waterfront structures, flood resiliency, and transit and rail facilities.


Required Skills & Required Experience


  • Currently ursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering is required (focus in Structural Engineering preferred)

  • Applicants should have exposure torelatedCivil/Structural engineering design, strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment withmultiple deadlines.

  • Assist with preparation of civil/structuralengineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specificationsto meet project requirements.

  • Proficiency inREVIT and AutoCADgood working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.

Salary Range

$18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
