Job summary

Modjeski and Masters, Inc. is seeking a Professional Engineer with at least five years of bridge design experience for our St. Louis, MO and Edwardsville, IL offices. The role requires a valid PE license, familiarity with AASHTO standards, and experience on IDOT or MoDOT projects. Hybrid work is available.

You will review design calculations, perform structural analysis, and prepare reports while collaborating with clients and staff on a range of transportation projects.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of related bridge design experience.
• Valid Professional Engineer License (PE).
• SE is preferred.
• Experience with IDOT or MoDOT Projects required.

Responsibilities

• Review and check structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using analysis software.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Perform field inspections and construction service assignments.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
• Apply relevant design specifications including AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI.

What You'll Do

• Review and check structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using analysis software.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation etc.
• Correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
