Join to apply for the Structural Bridge Engineer in Training (E.I.) role at Volkert, Inc.

We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer in Training (E.I.) to support our Southeast Region located in Tampa, Orlando, or Tallahassee, FL.

To be considered, applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.

The ideal candidate will assist a team of Engineers on projects such as structural design and engineering studies, performing tasks including research, development, design, plans production, and delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform assignments requiring knowledge of basic structural engineering principles
• Design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls, bridge load ratings, review of working drawings, and cost estimating
• Assist in preparing project quantities and cost estimates
• Analyze structures using structural engineering software
• Prepare structural calculations and details for materials like steel and concrete
• Create structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation, and AutoCAD
• Collaborate with the Structures Team

What You Need To Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of structural principles
• 1-5 years of structural engineering experience (preferably FDOT)
• FDOT experience is a plus but not required
• EIT (E.I.) Certification
• Experience with MicroStation
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR
