Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer in one of the specified locations. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a team to design, manage, and deliver transportation structural engineering projects that serve local and nationwide clients.

Posting Locations include: Belleville, IL; Bloomington, IL; Champaign, IL; Chicago, IL; Effingham, IL; Lisle, IL; Peoria, IL; Pontiac, IL; Springfield, IL; Tinley Park, IL; St. Louis, MO; Nashville, TN.

Job Activities:

1. Serve as a technical resource to mentor, manage, and provide QC/QA for Transportation Structural Team staff.
2. Serve as an Engineer-of-Record, including leading/performing designs for typical, advanced typical, and complex bridge projects.
3. Perform and supervise structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects.
4. Manage bridge design projects involving steel plate girders, prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, substructures, foundations, box culverts, retaining and noise walls, and river structures.
5. Manage client communications, project scope, schedule, budget, and quality, supervising other structural staff as needed.
6. Provide QC/QA for structure designs and projects.
7. Assist in preparing project proposals and statements of qualifications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
• 8+ years of bridge engineering experience, including advanced typical structures.
• Experience as Engineer-of-Record with bridge design, codes, calculations, reports, and contract documents.
• Proficiency with structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
• Leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience working with IDOT and/or Tollway Facility Bridge projects (5+ years).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with complex and/or railroad structures.
• Master's in Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Project and client management skills.
• NHI certification for Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as Bentley CONNECT, OpenBridge Designer, LEAP Bridge, RISA-3D, and others.

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $150,000, based on experience and qualifications.
