Job summary

BW Design Group, part of Barry‑Wehmiller, seeks a Structural Associate to join our team and contribute to industrial facility projects. You will collaborate with architects, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to develop complete structural design packages and construction documents.

You will work under senior engineers toward licensure, gain exposure to seismic and gravity design, and participate in field assessments, with the opportunity to travel for project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent.
• Experience with 3D structural analysis software (RISA 3D, SAFE).
• Knowledge of gravity and seismic design for industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support capital projects and deliver solutions for clients.
• Work on-site and remotely with architects and engineers to meet client needs.
• Assist licensed structural engineers toward licensure.
• Develop structural design documents and construction drawings.
• Learn seismic design methods and gravity/lateral load calculations.
• Assist in field assessments and prepare specifications.
• Design structural systems for industrial facilities.
