Job summary

Ateeca Inc. is seeking an Experienced Payloads Design Engineer to join the Washington Interiors Team in Everett, WA. The role focuses on developing payload system requirements, integrating 3-D design, and coordinating with suppliers and internal groups throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include validating designs through tests, supporting manufacturing, and exploring new technologies to meet program goals in a cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering with Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Materials focus; 5+ years' experience.
  • Experience with aerospace interiors, cabin and cargo design.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and FAA/EASA-like standards.
  • Experience working with aerospace suppliers or airlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate and document payload system requirements to define system design.
  • Create, modify and maintain 3-D payload system designs using CAD tools for product definition.
  • Perform tests to validate and verify system and component performance.
  • Support supplier development, test, and production activities with coordination.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future designs.

Job description

  • Client is seeking an Experienced Payloads Design Engineers to support the Washington Interiors Team.
  • Payloads is seeking candidates with experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with engineering processes and tools; including CSDT, CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, and associated release processes.
  • Experience with aircraft cabin and cargo engineering products and designs
  • Experience with engineering support within a production system
  • Experience with direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines
  • Experience supporting the validation of compliance to regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with regulators
  • Experience with Design for manufacturing
  • Experience with Aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and/or certification
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences). 5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Basic understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
  • Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes - Client experience is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.).
  • Demonstrates good problem solving skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences). 5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
