Job summary

Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is seeking a Strong Fast Fit Program Coordinator for YWCA Minneapolis Midtown. Lead a team delivering afterschool and summer programming that empowers diverse youth through movement, nutrition, creativity and reflection.

Youth development expertise, strong collaboration skills and a commitment to equity will drive daily programming, staff coaching, and partnerships with schools and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social/Human Services, Youth Development, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience working with multiple partners and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality youth programming grounded in best practices in youth development
  • Maintain communication with Program Manager, YWCA Midtown staff and families
  • Hire, train and coach part-time youth counselors
  • Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements
  • Support a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants
  • Work collaboratively with Program Manager in community partner cultivation, ensuring opportunities align with program goals and youth interests
  • Additional duties as assigned

Now Hiring: Strong Fast Fit Program Coordinator
Pay Range: $53,000-$55,000
Status: Full-Time
Location: YWCA Minneapolis Midtown

What You’ll Do:

As the Strong Fast Fit Program Coordinator, you’ll lead a team of youth counselors to deliver high-quality youth programming in a safe, respectful and highly engaging environment. Strong Fast Fit (SFF) is a free afterschool and summer program that empowers BIPOC youth to build confidence, develop healthy habits, and strengthen their leadership skills. Through movement, nutrition, creativity and reflection, youth learn what it means to live strong, fast and fit - inside and out.

  • Design and deliver high-quality youth programming grounded in best practices in youth development
  • Maintain a clear and consistent line of communication with Program Manager, YWCA Midtown staff and families, maintaining professional and positive relationships with all
  • Work collaboratively with Program Manager in community partner cultivation, ensuring opportunities are in alignment with program goals and youth interests
  • Hire, train and coach part-time youth counselors
  • Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements
  • Support a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants
  • Additional duties as assigned
Schedule

School Year: Monday-Thursday, between the hours of 10am-7:30pm. Fridays, 9am-5pm (remote available)

Summer: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

You are a passionate youth advocate and experienced program leader who thrives in diverse school and community settings. You understand the power of afterschool programs to support positive youth development and are committed to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice.

You bring strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate and guide teams, and a collaborative mindset that strengthens partnerships and engagement with youth, families, and community stakeholders.

Core Competencies
  • Youth Development: Understanding of best practices with Middle/High School aged youth programming and positive youth development
  • Leadership: Experience coaching and supporting diverse part-time staff
  • Collaboration: Skilled in building relationships with schools, families, and community partners
  • Cultural Responsiveness: Ability to engage effectively with youth and families from varied racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds
  • Program Design & Evaluation: Proficient in planning, implementing, and assessing youth programs for continuous improvement
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with confidence in presenting to groups and stakeholders
  • Time Management: Organized and adaptable with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social/Human Services, Youth Development, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth in group settings
  • Experience designing and facilitating educational and enrichment activities
  • Experience working with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strengths-based, youth-centered approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong belief in YWCA and ability to convey its importance
  • Reliable transportation
