Job summary

Cook County Health in Chicago seeks a Stroke Coordinator to lead the Stroke Program within the Quality Assurance division. You will manage data, oversee compliance with Joint Commission requirements for Primary Stroke Center status, and collaborate with nursing staff to educate and train across the system.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with patients, physicians, and hospital staff to improve stroke care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
• 4+ years of nursing experience.
• 1 year in Neurosurgical or Stroke nursing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stroke registry with real‑time data and outcomes.
• Ensure Joint Commission compliance for Primary Stroke Center.
• Develop policies, protocols, and care pathways for the Stroke Program.
• Educate staff on stroke care, dysphagia screening, and neurologic checks.
