Job summary

Hartford Hospital's NeuroStroke Program is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to provide high-quality advanced practice care across the patient continuum. You will work with a multidisciplinary neuroscience team to manage stroke and cerebrovascular conditions, exercising independent clinical judgment under the direction of attending physicians.

You will participate in comprehensive care, contribute to neuroradiology–supported assessment, and help with education,

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited program or AGACNP-BC/FNP-BC program
• NCCPA Certification
• Current PA or APRN license
• Board certification in accordance with Connecticut state law
• Prior specialty experience in neurology or stroke care may be required

Responsibilities

• Delivering comprehensive advanced practice care to achieve or maintain optimal health outcomes, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness.
• Exercising independent clinical judgment in the care of individuals, families, and populations across the lifespan.
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary neuroscience team caring for patients with stroke and other blood-supply-related disorders of the brain and spinal cord.
• Practicing under the direction of attending physicians at Hartford Hospital.
• Reporting through a matrix structure that may include a Nurse Manager, Nursing Director, and/or Medical Director.

Education

ARC-PA accredited program or AGACNP-BC/FNP-BC program

NCCPA Certification

Current PA or APRN license

Board certification in CT state (licensure after 1994)
