Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Ayer Neuroscience Institute is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary stroke program. You will provide holistic, advanced practice care for neurology and stroke patients, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and allied staff to optimize outcomes.

The role emphasizes independent decision-making, ongoing education, and participation in care plans across the patient continuum, with night shifts and permanent status within Hartford

Qualifications

• Completion of Approved Nurse Practitioner Program
• Current APRN license required after 1994
• Certification according to CT state law
• Master's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective advanced practice care for patients, families and others in a target population.
• Engages in independent decision-making regarding health care across lifespan.
• Reports to Nursing Director, Medical Director or Nurse Manager.
• Part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care for neurology and stroke disorders under physician direction.
