Job summary

Novant Health’s Stroke and Neuro unit at NH NHRMC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts (7pm–7am) with shift differential. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care, collaboration with the care team, and support for mobility and daily living activities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, NA I certification, and preferred experience in long-term or assisted living settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience preferred; long-term care/assisted living experience beneficial.
• Completion of NA I program; listed with nurse aide registry as NA I.
• Medication Safety - AME required; facility-specific training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by supporting daily activities and promoting comfort and dignity during each patient’s stay.
• Collaborate with nurses and providers, offering observations and aiding care plans in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with safe mobility, ambulation, repositioning, and fall-prevention to support patient progress.
• Document vitals and patient status accurately to enhance communication and clinical decisions.
• Create a calm, supportive environment for patients and families; provide reassurance and set expectations during challenging moments.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean environment under RN supervision.
• For Assisted Living units: assist residents with daily living and report status changes to the Charge Nurse.
