Job summary

Qualifications

• RN with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
• Experience in stroke care or quality improvement.
• BSN or higher; RN licensure in NC or compact state.
• CNRN or SNRN certification preferred.
• Strong data analysis, critical thinking, and education delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory standards to maintain primary stroke center designation.
• Lead program evaluation and process improvements via committees.
• Serve as liaison between physicians, managers, and clinical staff and stroke institutes.
• Promote stroke care by building relationships with facilities in the Thomasville region.
• Review data monitoring to improve quality and patient outcomes.
• Develop and facilitate education on stroke and neurologic emergencies for hospital/EMS.
• Collaborate with stroke manager and community outreach on education.

What We Offer

Stroke Coordinator

Department: Stroke & Neuroscience

Location: Thomasville Medical Center

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Flexibility required for occasional early mornings or late evenings

Position Overview

The Stroke Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing high-quality stroke care by partnering with the interdisciplinary healthcare team across all aspects of the patient journey. This position leads both formal and informal education for staff, supports patient and family education, and drives performance through the collection and analysis of clinical, financial, and quality data. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving outcomes, fostering collaboration, and enhancing stroke program excellence.

What You'll Do

• Coordinates and oversees compliance with regulatory standards to maintain primary stroke center certification.
• Leads program evaluation and assists with process improvement efforts through established committees and meetings, such as Stroke council meeting and neuro best practice exchange team.
• Services as the liaison between physicians, managers, and clinical staff of Novant Health TMC and Novant Health stroke and neurosciences institute
• Promotes stroke care by creating collaborative relationships between healthcare facilities in the Thomasville region.
• Reviews and evaluates data monitoring and analysis to facilitate meeting program objectives and improvements in quality/patient outcomes
• Coordinates, develops, participates in, and/or facilitates education surrounding stroke and neurologic emergencies for hospital and EMS personnel.
• Closely works with stroke manager and community outreach to promote stroke education in the region.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BSN, required.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical RN experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered as RN in NC or compact state, required. Certification as CNRN or SNRN, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required): Demonstrates interdisciplinary leadership skills, superior interpersonal communication skills and knowledge of computer database, data analysis and presentation skills.
