Quanex is hiring a Strip Mill Operator for the 2nd shift in Cambridge, OH. On-site role offering a base hourly rate of $18 with a $1 shift premium for 2nd/3rd shifts. Requisition STRIP007981.

Must be able to operate machinery safely, monitor production, and support quality control in a manufacturing environment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to work overtime including weekends.

Summary: The primary requirements of the Strip Mill Operator are to properly blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within allowable specifications.

What Success Looks Like:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Necessity for attention to detail.
• The ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output.
• Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
• Job requires the operator to cut the rubber stock off the mill and to be able to lift it back up to band on the mill
• Must be able to pull a rubber strip(s) approximately 2 to 20 inches wide, from the mill and feed it onto the take-off belt located approximately three feet away
• This job is on a two to five-minute cycle
• Requires the operator to communicate with the additional staff members
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
• Fill out two-roll safety checklist
• Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures

Your Credentials:

• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• High School or GED preferred
• Willing to work overtime including weekends
• Knowledge of general computer skills.

The hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour, plus $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and/or 3rd shift.

2nd shift - 2:45pm - 11:00pm
