Job description

SII Group USA is looking for a Stress Simulation Engineer to support an aerospace client specializing in aircraft cabin systems in Fort Worth, TX.

We are seeking an early-career engineer with 1–3 years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), crashworthiness, or structural simulation, ideally within the automotive or aerospace industry.

The ideal candidate has practical exposure to LS-DYNA, a good understanding of structural mechanics, and an interest in passenger safety, seat crash simulations, and Head Injury Criterion (HIC) analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support crashworthiness and HIC simulations for aircraft interior systems.
  • Perform static and dynamic structural analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Prepare finite element models, including meshing, material definitions, contacts, and boundary conditions, using HyperMesh, ANSA, or equivalent tools.
  • Execute and troubleshoot LS-DYNA simulations involving impact, nonlinear dynamics, and structural deformation.
  • Use LS-PrePost, HyperView, or similar software to analyze simulation results and extract key performance indicators.
  • Assist in evaluating occupant safety, structural integrity, and seat performance under crash conditions.
  • Compare simulation results with physical test data and support model correlation activities.
  • Contribute to technical reports, simulation documentation, and design optimization recommendations.
  • Collaborate with structural design, testing, and certification engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in FEA, structural simulation, or crash analysis, including relevant internships or research projects.
  • Hands‑on exposure to LS‑DYNA or a comparable explicit dynamic solver.
  • Familiarity with HyperMesh, ANSA, or similar FEA preprocessing tools.
  • Understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, meshing, and nonlinear analysis.
  • Ability to interpret simulation results and prepare clear technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
