Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in the United States is seeking a Senior Stress Analyst to perform preliminary and detailed stress analyses of missile flight structures and components, working in a multidisciplinary team to support design trades and analysis activities.

Candidates should have experience with Abaqus CAE or NX Simcenter 3D, knowledge of spacecraft/aircraft structural analysis methods, and the ability to lead tests, prepare charts, and collaborate across programs; a Top Secret clearance is

Qualifications

  • Experience with Abaqus CAE, NX Simcenter 3D, or equivalent FEA tool.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft, aircraft and/or similar structural analysis methods and testing.
  • Experience with shock, static, vibration, acoustic, and/or modal analysis/test.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling and analyzing test components for dynamic behavior and characteristics.
  • Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts.
  • Supporting structural load test definition, requirements development, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis effort.
  • Collaborating with designers in developing the most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility.
  • Coordinating with program to forecast level of effort for long term analysis needs.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

As a Senior Stress Analyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of missile flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades and preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Abaqus CAE, NX Simcenter 3D, or equivalent finite element modeling tool.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft, aircraft and/or similar structural analysis methods and testing.
  • Experience with shock, static, vibration, acoustic, and/or modal analysis/test.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen, and hold an Active or Current Top Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience.
  • A Master\'s degree is strongly preferred for this position.
  • Non-linear, fracture & fatigue, and buckling analysis experience.
  • Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience.
  • Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools.
  • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.
  • Creativity/innovation to tackle issues related to anomalous performance of any aspect of a mechanical system.
  • Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
