Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Structural Analyst to perform dynamic and structural analysis for aerospace products throughout the full life cycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply FEA tools such as NX, Nastran, Abaqus, and contribute to design validation, testing, and model correlation; US citizenship and final Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of structural analysis experience
  • Master's degree in Structural Dynamics or aerospace experience is preferred
  • Candidate must be US citizen with ability to obtain security clearance
  • Experience with NX/NASTRAN finite element modeling
  • Knowledge of spacecraft/aircraft structural analysis methods and hand calculations
  • Ability to work in a highly integrated, collaborative team environment
  • Ownership mindset and drive to closure on tasks

Responsibilities

  • Support conceptual and detailed design through full product life cycle using dynamics and structural analysis

Standard Job Description

You will be a Structural Analyst for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for performing structural and dynamics analysis for our missile and launch systems, supporting initial and detail designs of advanced hardware from concept through the full product life cycle.

What You Will Be Doing

As a structural analyst, you will be responsible for applying your expertise in dynamic and structural analysis to drive the development of new aerospace products. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and test innovative solutions.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Supporting conceptual and detailed design of advanced hardware through the full product life cycle via dynamics and structural analysis
  • Collaborating with individuals from complementary disciplines within Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sub-Contracts organizations
  • Applying research to the planning, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products
  • Working with little direction to develop advanced technical principles, techniques, and concepts
  • Being proficient in dynamic/structural analysis, finite element analysis, structural/vibration testing, and test correlation
  • Utilizing related application software such as ANSA, Nastran, Abaqus, NX, FEMAP, Patran, and HyperMesh

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, from an accredited university, with 3+ years of industry experience performing structural analysis
  • Final Secret clearance
  • Experience with NX /NASTRAN finite element modeling
  • Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis
  • Knowledge of and applicable experience with spacecraft or aircraft structural analysis methods, including classical hand calculations, experience with mechanical joints
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
  • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
Desired Skills
  • Masters degree in Structural Dynamics or similar, from an accredited university, with 3+ years of aerospace industry experience
  • Experience working missile and launch systems for DoD customers
  • Experience performing static and dynamic analyses to include inertial, pressure, vibration, and shock loading
  • Experience defining and supporting static, vibration, acoustic, modal and shock testing and model correlation
  • Experience supporting both hardware development and production environments
  • Experience with the structural requirements of MIL-M-8856 and MIL-STD-810
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
