Job summary
A public research university seeks a Fitness Instructor for the Faculty and Staff Fitness program. This hourly position involves teaching Strength Training and Rhythmic Formats courses. Candidates should have teaching experience or professional certification and must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. The role supports inclusive learning principles and will serve a diverse group of faculty and staff. Classes will be scheduled 2-3 days a week, starting July 2025.
Qualifications
1 year of teaching experience for a minimum of 2 1-hour classes per week.
Nationally recognized certification and 6 months of teaching experience.
3 years of experience in strength training with an Associate’s degree.
Responsibilities
Teach Strength Training and/or Rhythmic Formats courses.
Design and assess participants’ ability to perform movements.
Demonstrate physical fitness activity during classes.
Skills
Teaching experience in strength training
Knowledge of rhythmic formats
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
Ability to design inclusive courses
Education
Master’s in Kinesiology or relevant discipline
Associate’s degree in Exercise Sports Science
High School Diploma or equivalent
