Job summary

The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a Maintenance Worker I – Streets in its Public Works Department for a full-time role (~40 hours/week). The job includes street maintenance, storm drainage upkeep, and on-call after-hours emergency duties including snow plowing.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, experience in public works or construction, and multiple certifications (Storm Water Inspector, OSHA Confined Space, Trench Safety, First Aid/CPR).

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Some experience with public works systems or general construction.
• Storm Water Inspector certification within twelve months of hiring.
• OSHA Confined Space Certification.
• OSHA Trench Safety Training.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Must possess a valid Utah CDL class A Driver's License with Tanker endorsement, or obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect public streets and coordinate maintenance.
• Set forms, pour and finish concrete; rake asphalt for streets, curbs, and sidewalks.
• Operate light vehicles and equipment for transportation and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain the City's drainage system and respond to emergencies after hours, including snow plowing.
• Comply with federal, state, and local codes related to storm drain maintenance.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and operate heavy machinery as needed.
• Monitor drainage during storms and clear blockages to maintain flow.
• Snow plowing of public streets and general facility maintenance.
