Job summary

City of Commerce City is hiring an entry-level Streets Operations Technician. You will receive hands-on training while helping maintain streets, sidewalks, bridges and drainage infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn in a municipal setting.

Hiring salary varies by experience; the official range is posted as $23.51–$26.12 per hour. A Colorado driver’s license and upcoming CDL-B, plus Flagger certification within a year, are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some municipal maintenance experience preferred.
• Must obtain a Commercial Driver's License Class B within three months of hire and maintain during employment.
• Flagger certification required within one year of hire and maintained during employment.
• Equivalent education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, bridges and drainage systems.
• Receive hands-on training in public works operations in a city setting.
• Support crew in daily tasks and ensure safety and compliance with licensing requirements.
