A municipality is seeking a Street Maintenance Worker responsible for maintaining city infrastructure through various manual and skilled tasks. This role requires knowledge of construction methods, effective communication, and a Class B CDL. The position is safety-sensitive and includes exposure to outdoor working conditions and mechanical hazards.

Salary Range: $15.00 - $18.96 (Depending on experience and qualifications)

General Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Streets General Foreman, performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city infrastructure. This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing. Safety-sensitive positions must comply with federal regulations where marijuana remains illegal. Possession of a medical marijuana license does not exempt safety-sensitive positions from federal regulations. If a safety-sensitive employee tests positive and can no longer perform the job, the City of Claremore will implement a zero-tolerance policy resulting in immediate termination.

Motorized vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, pickup trucks, utility trucks, tamper, plate compactor, saws, pumps, propane kettle, compressors, sanders, generators, hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radio, phone.
Physical Demands:
Regularly use hands to operate objects and reach; frequently stand, talk, or hear; occasionally walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. Must lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
Primarily outside in weather conditions; often near moving mechanical parts; exposed to wet/humid conditions, vibration, high places, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and electrical hazards. Noise level is usually loud.
