Job summary

City of Norfolk, VA seeks a Maintenance Worker II to perform manual and semi-skilled labor in the construction, repair, and maintenance of sidewalks, streets, and bridges. Assist with snow removal, storm debris, and maintain city infrastructure in Norfolk.

Position requires reading and understanding instructions; at least one year in a similar role or completion of the Operations Apprentice program, with a valid Driver's License and CDL within six months.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• One year as a Maintenance Worker or completion of Operations Apprentice program.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and roadways.
• Repair potholes and involve in asphalt/concrete repairs.
• Operate hand and power tools and drive city vehicles.
• Follow supervisor instructions and work in adverse weather.
