Job summary

The Landings Association, Inc. in Savannah, GA is seeking a dependable Street Sweeper Operator to join our Public Works team. You will operate street sweeping equipment to keep roadways clear of debris, support stormwater drainage, and maintain the appearance and safety of our community.

You will perform daily inspections, minor maintenance, and accurate recordkeeping, report issues to the Fleet Coordinator, and train teammates on safe operation. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency operating specialty equipment; street sweeper experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; insurable under the organization’s policy.
• Basic vehicle/mechanics knowledge; able to spot wear, leaks, malfunctions.
• Ability to safely maneuver large or specialty vehicles in residential streets.
• Familiar with stormwater drainage, work zone safety, and debris disposal.
• Strong time management, dependable attendance, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Professional, cooperative approach and commitment to safe, responsible work.

• Assist with vegetation management using equipment such as chainsaws, trimmers, pole saws, blowers, hedgers, and chippers.
• Support other Public Works teams with general maintenance, special projects, and periods of high workload.
• Keep tools, vehicles, and equipment clean, safe, and ready for use.
• Follow safe work practices and assist with emergency operations during severe weather, natural disasters, and other urgent community needs.

What You’ll Bring

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position involves extended periods of sitting and operating equipment, along with outdoor maintenance work. Duties require occasional standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling, as well as occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds.

Work includes exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, and conditions near water.
