Job summary

The City of Fairhope is seeking an experienced crew leader for Streets and Facilities Maintenance. You will direct crews on daily tasks including street and asphalt repair, sidewalk work, and stormwater drainage maintenance, while inspecting equipment and coordinating repairs.

This safety‑sensitive role requires planning, scheduling, and material procurement, training newer employees, and ensuring crew adherence to safety standards; you may lead at job sites and assist with pre‑employment checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years in sidewalk construction, concrete work, and street repair.
• Valid Alabama driver’s license; CDL may be required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and initial drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Directs assigned crews on daily street, sidewalk, and drainage repair projects.
• Inspects equipment and coordinates preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Plans, schedules, and procures materials for projects; trains new employees.
• Ensures safety standards and proper signage during operations.
