Job summary

The City of Charlotte is hiring a Street Maintenance Crew Member to perform unskilled to semi-skilled work on roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems. You will handle materials, operate concrete tools, and support the crew in daily maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include loading supplies, assisting with asphalt work, and following directions from the crew chief. Requires on-call and possible night/weekend shifts; background checks and pre-employment drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• OSHA knowledge and safety practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work with crew.
• Willingness to perform heavy manual labor.
• May require on-call nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials, supplies and equipment.
• Assist in asphalt maintenance, shoveling and raking.
• Direct traffic and perform safety tasks on site.
