The City Government is seeking a maintenance worker to perform the upkeep and repair of city streets, rights of way, signs, and related structures. The role requires reading instructions, basic math, and accurate record-keeping.
No prior experience is required, but knowledge of concrete or road work is preferred. Licenses may be required within a set timeframe. Candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in daily operations.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalency is preferable. Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.
No previous experience is required. Concrete or road work experience preferred.
The City reserves the right to allow an employee to obtain licenses/certifications during a reasonable timeframe agreed to in writing (unless otherwise prohibited or limited by law) as a condition of continued employment. Failure to obtain the licenses/certifications as agreed will result in termination. Desire Structural Pest Control Board License and TDH Mosquito Vector Control.
Valid CDL License-tanker endorsement or obtain within six (6) months.
Work requires the ability to read manuals and instructions.
Work requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data, general math calculations.
Work requires the ability to write logs, work orders and instructions.
Normal tasks require use of definite procedures, with little deviation. Work Judgment is required to apply the proper course of action.
Duties require the ability to provide information and directions.
