Qualifications

• Three months' experience in street lighting installation and maintenance.

Job description

Semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting equipment and whiteway facilities.

• Installs and splices series high voltage or multiple circuit cable
• Drives and operates automotive equipment (e.g. auger truck, bucket truck)
• Prepares and sets foundations for light poles
• Assists in concrete finishing work
• Troubleshoots circuit and installs new light fixtures
• Performs related work as required

• Three (3) months' experience in the installation and maintenance of street lighting equipment, including wire splicing, conduit installation and general maintenance
• Class "B" Commercial Driver's License valid for air brake

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact
• Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift heavy objects and use a jackhammer to break up a sidewalk
