Qualifications

Terry's Electric provides construction and maintenance services to Utility Companies throughout Florida. Our Street Lighting Division supports new installations, maintenance, repair, and retrofit of lighting and control systems provided by the Utility.

Terry's Electric is committed to the training and growth of our employees to meet current safety standards and equipment operation. We train and certify our technicians for OSHA, Bucket Truck, Digger Derrick, and MOT, and sponsor qualified persons to attend the FEAT apprentice program.

We are currently seeking a Street Lighting Lead for work in Orlando and adjacent suburbs.

General Job Description

As a Street Lighting Lead, your responsibilities will include installing, replacing, and repairing street lighting, installing underground wiring and boxes, and installing new street lighting poles. You will also be terminating wiring connections on live circuits using required protective gear. You will lead projects with the assistance of an electrician, trainee, or helper.

• Troubleshoot power and control circuits.
• Set poles and hand
• Interpret plans to create material requisitions and determine required resources to complete the project.
• Construct and install street lighting control systems.

Job Knowledge

• Have advanced knowledge of the tasks required to perform all phases of electrical work in accordance with power company standards and the National Electrical Code.
• Understand, communicate, and train hand signals required for equipment operation.
• Ability to operate a bucket truck.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a street lighting electrician or in a similar field.
• Possess a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
• No issues working at heights or from a bucket truck.
• Able to work with little or no supervision.
• Ability to operate a Digger Derrick to set, remove, and straighten utility poles.
• Able to work extended periods in heat and direct sunlight.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
